Lagos Fashion House Cerumi Debuts With “Silk and Structure”

Lagos fashion brand Cerumi wants to close gaps in the shopping experiences of women in the city.

Princess Ucheobom, creative director of the soon-to-be-launched brand, tells Modaculture that “Nigerian fashion is incredible, but sometimes the pieces don’t arrive when they should or fit the way you envisioned,” calling out wait times for shipping and anxieties around the condition of the pieces on arrival.

Cerumi is stepping in to fill the gaps.

The brand launches on August 14 with its debut collection, Silk and Structure. It was built around one idea: that a piece should be “simple enough to feel natural but precise enough to make you feel like yourself, but better.” Cerumi enters the market with just two designs because it’s “obsessed with getting the service level and quality right before anything else”.

The womenswear brand is building for women who aren’t willing to compromise on fit or aesthetics. With pieces that are ultra-feminine and body-conscious, and a base in Lagos, Cerumi promises same-day delivery within the city and next-day nationwide.
