Fashion house Kwasi Paul is the iconic friction of two universes colliding. In this friction, the designer explores the juxtaposition of these universes while stitching the brand’s own identity.
The brand describes itself as, “the manifestation of a parallel diaspora world, and that world is where we as future ancestors exist.”
Heritage, fluidity and the unknown permeate the essence of Kwasi Paul as it values the fervent reflection of the culture in individuality, and it is, for this reason, the brand crafts.

The Creative Director, Sam Boakye tells MC! Magazine,
“People like me don’t belong to one universe. I’m literally the true definition of what it means to be an African-American. Born in Queens, NY, with strong ties to my Ghanian heritage.
I go to Ghana, people don’t view me as a true Ghanaian, yet here in the states, people can’t pronounce my last name right, and think I grew up with lions. So if I don’t fully belong in any universe, what do I do? I create my own.”

Boakye says that, with Kwasi Paul, he has created his own universe – a universe for the people of the diaspora to “come and join, help change the future, and finish building the bridge that exists in the diaspora.
“Those who feel that they belong to just one culture, or those who feel that they aren’t accepted to the standards of society exist in the world of Kwasi Paul. We are a special type of species. We are the future ancestors of the world.”
