
Golden Globes season is almost upon us, and the recent nominations are a testament to that. The reveal of the nominations for the 82nd annual Golden Globe happened on December 9, with globally acclaimed film and TV projects such as Wicked, Gladiator II, Anora, Emilia Pérez, A Complete Unknown, Baby Reindeer, The Bear, Shōgun, and Slow Horses featuring in the list. Hollywood stars Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the film and television nominees, and it is set to air live on January 5.
In light of all these, we all witness several Black entertainers making this list with impressive performances. Actors like Wicked leading lady Cynthia Erivo and Gladiator II’s Denzel Washington made the Golden Globe nominee list, with their film projects still making waves at the box office. This nomination also makes it the 11th nomination Denzel Washington is receiving at the Golden Globes. Viola Davis is also receiving the “Cecil B. DeMille Award for Career Achievements in Film.”
