In this issue of MC! Magazine, we bring you the intimate story of the Chivas XV’s Regal Dinner which took place awhile ago.
Lagos is a city known for, among many other things, its penchant for hosting social gatherings where people converge to sip the finest of liquor and dine lavishly. One of such which has continued to linger in the hearts of many for its grandeur, is the private dinner – Chivas XV’s Regal Dinner – hosted by stylist, Swanky Jerry to pre-launch Nigeria’s new whisky arrival, Chivas XV.
On a fine Monday evening, earlier on the 20th of March, defying the usual Lagos traffic and post-Monday-work-lack-of -interest-in-parties typical of the Lagos working-class, Jerry successfully hosted socialites at an upscale Lagos restaurant, Casa Mia.
Some of the big names who attended the dinner include Oladapo “D’Banj” Daniel Oyebanjo & his wife, Lineo Didi Kilgrow, Annie Idibia, Ini-Edo, Kaylah Oniwo, Mary Edoro, Rukky Sanda, Ex-Big Brother Naija stars- Mercy Eke, Seyi Awolowo, Actors-Kunle Remi, Tope Tedela and a host of others.
Also at this dinner, “Lagos” was introduced to team XV – a selection from the wealthy unconventional demography of ambitious socials of the society whose wealth is not easily and obviously attributed to family or social status and who have been chosen to front the whisky Nigeria – Dewunmi Bankhead, Dubby Gustavo, Papi Gustavo, Francis Uzor and Dj TTB.
As one would already expect of such gathering, guests witnessed a grand entrance of the host, Swanky Jerry who arrived in a Rolls Royce, amid fire sparklers.
The brand’s in-house ambassador Dekunle Abudu fuelled conversations, acquainting guests with immersive discussions about the whisky. Elevating the moment a notch higher, the dinner transitioned to a high energy party on a rooftop featuring a unique mix of an onset DJ and Hypeman, Big N accompanied by the flowing strings of Dabyno the guitarist and a violinist.
The evening glistened with life as guests were treated to tasting surveys of Chivas XV, lamb chops made with edible Gold served alongside Canapés and grubs.
